The Company was founded in 1958 by Mino Boscarini
in collaboration with his daughter Maria Rosa and his sons, Ettore,
Ugo and Francesco; they transformed two stocking knitting machines
into knitting machines, one with a 21 gg. fineness and the other
one with a 45 gg. fineness, the latter being still the thinnest
frame in the world ever.
In spite of all the difficulties met during the years after, the
Company has always succeeded in improving its production and its
research for new products, in collaboration with the best Italian
spinning Companies and with the most important national and international
fashion houses.
Maglieria Gemma started from a handicraft manufacture and an on-commission
working procedure; over the years, thanks to the market development
and to a change in the corporate policy, it has been developing
and specializing more and more, becoming a small industry and availing
itself of the collaboration of internally-trained and highly specialized
personnel. Today, just as 50 years ago, most of the workings are performed
manually, thus ensuring a high-quality product which is considered
one of the best on the world market.
The Company is presently enjoying the collaboration of the Boscarini
family's third generation, who is now contributing crucially with
its innovatory and up-to-date ideas, always following the older
traditions.
